How to Stay Fit and Healthy

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

How do you regularly stay healthy and fit?  A proper diet of nutritious fruits and vegetables is the key as well as daily exercise.

The very best exercise is one that you will sincerely continue to do whether it is push-ups, using the equipment at the gym or the much tamer alternative such as twice a week walking.  However, many people like to work out using fitness machines in their own homes.

We’ve gathered together a few important things to think about when ordering fitness equipment.

Do not believe all the claims that you see in the adverts! It is best to look into the promises carefully. It is so hard to believe some promises that assure people that they will lose many pounds in under a week or that you will decrease three pants sizes in a month.  Even with the assistance of supplements, it is difficulty to accomplish changes as major as these in only a few weeks never mind a few days!

Be sceptical about claims that claim you can burn a tremendous amount of fat in a specific part of your body, for instance the thighs and hips by using a particular cream.  The only sure way to get rid of fat is by decreasing what you consume. Daily exercise is the ideal answer that works on every area of the body that has fat you need to get rid of.

Unbelievable photos of men and women who say that they could lose weight because of buying and using a particular equipment may be exaggerated.  Even if they are true, their experience is purely personal and that does not mean your unique body make up will also undergo the same changes.

It is always advisable to always look at the fine print of anything you are purchasing. Even though you are sure that the exercise equipment you are thinking of buying is best for you, reading carefully the fine print should always be done as it often will say that you must eat less and not just rely on the machine if you need to lose  weight.

Make Moderate Exercise Part of Your Life

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Being tired and stressed at work may be a direct result of lack of exercise. Do you feel too tired to play with your kids or enjoy weekends? Even a  small amount of exercise can have a big effect on your mental and physical well being. Just walking at a moderate pace for thirty minutes will help you to feel better and will have the added benefit of helping you to sleep better at night.

What are the benefits of moderate exercise?

Even moderate exercise once or twice a week can have a positive effect on your life. It is a great way to overcome depression and lift your spirits if you are down. If you have not been exercising regularly start with fifteen minutes two or three times a week and slowly increase it as you feel comfortable. Don’t overdo it and never force your body if you are experiencing pain. Take a break and start again later.

Moderate exercises we can all enjoy

Walk instead of riding whenever you can. Take a walk through the park with your spouse or children and not only enjoy the benefit of the exercise but enjoy the surroundings and the company.

Join a yoga class and benefit from the stretching exercises and relaxation that yoga exercises bring. Yoga is also a good way to relieve stress and is particularly good for helping to overcome insomnia.

Play sports. Pick a sport you like and play regularly. Not only is this good exercise but it is a great way to have fun with friends and family.

Join an exercise program at work. many companies offer programs for their staff.  If yours doesn’t suggest it to your boss! It’s a great way for work colleagues to get to know each other better.

Use household chores for exercise. use less labour saving gadgets and more effort to get fitter and lose some weight! Vacuuming, washing the car, raking leaves etc are all good exercises.

If you make moderate exercise a part of your daily routine you will not only feel better, both physically and mentally but you may also lose some weight.
