Why is LA Fitness getting rid of their Zumba classes and replacing them with Latin Heat?

Monday, May 7th, 2012

The Zumba classes were a lot of fun and always packed. The Latin Heat classes are horrible – a lot of repetition and marching – and don’t get me started about the music. This probably explains why the class sizes dropped drastically. From a business standpoint, getting rid of Zumba seems like a huge mistake. Where there other factors in LA Fitness’s decision to drop Zumba?

How can I tell whether my fitness level is good or not?

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

What are the best indicators of physical fitness?

I know that I am able to do sit-ups continuously for about 5 minutes, not really sure how many reps I do but more than 100.
Plus I am able to go for a 10 mile brisk walk (4-5 mph) without stopping with no difficulty.

But do these actually indicate fitness?

How can I be strong physically, fit and have a good cardiovascular fitness?

Saturday, April 7th, 2012

I want to be strong physically and I want to improve my cardiovascular fitness. Unfortunately, I don’t go to clubs anymore to run a lot. So I have to depend on myself every week on Saturdays and Sundays to run. Unless of course, there is a good sport I discover, I will take the chance.

But for now, what kind of thing would you recommend me to do if I want to improve my upper-body strength and cardiovascular fitness to do every week? Thanks in advance. Help much appreciated.
