@1jes The DC32 Animal would be a good choice – it includes the excellent new ‘articulated hard floor tool’, in addition to the large and small Turbineheads. It also has Level 3 Root Cyclone technology, and a bin which is designed to be quick and easy to empty.
The Turbinehead for the DC22 is engineered to get the most out of the lower airflow, but I think you’ll find the larger Turbinehead which comes with the DC32 Animal does a better job. The DC22 is mainly designed for very small homes.

Thanks for your advice. I have looked at the two models you suggested online. The DC32 Animal looks a better bet than the DC19T2 Animal so I think I might go for the DC32 Animal as also it seems to be on offer at the moment in different places such as Argos (£220). I’ve looked at the Dyson website and it says this model has 280 Air Watts (AW) as opposed to 200 AW for the DC22 Turbinehead model. I am presuming therefore that this means the head will spin better on carpet that’s a bit thicker.

@1jes Hi there – glad you liked the video, and hopefully I can answer your queries!
The DC23 Motorhead is a superb carpet cleaner, but the Motorhead itself makes quite a bit of noise. The wand is a little heavy, too, which can make dusting difficult.
The DC22 Turbine is quieter, but not as well suited for cleaning lots of medium-pile carpet.
Have you considered the DC19T2 Animal, or DC32 Animal? Both sound like a reasonable compromise, and might be worth looking into!

Excellent video!
I’m thinking of getting a Dyson cylinder either with a turbinehead or the DC23 Motorhead. However, I’m concerned about Dysons being very noisy. Do you know which of the turbinehead cylinders is the quietest of the bunch, or do you know if the Motorhead is necessarily noisier than a turbinehead model? Also, I have medium pile carpet so am wondering if you think a turbinehead would turn okay?
Many thanks

@U5096 Both of those belong to Mike, and live at his place, so unfortunately I don’t have access to film them. But I’ll try and remember next time, and get some film of them for you

December 22nd, 2011 at 5:48 pm
@Vacuums4821 I’ve never really been keen on Sebo uprights, aside from the Felix. But yes, the one in the background of the video is the commercial model, it belongs to a friend of mine.
